Provost’s Message

Dear WVU Families and Friends:

The West Virginia University community includes many innovators who have the courage to lead others in the pursuit of advancing scholarship, education and service to our communities. These faculty, staff and students are setting a new pace for the institution. They inspire us to greater heights, and to chart a new course for our institution. It is appropriate that we pause in the academic year to recognize excellence in our midst.

I hope you will be able to join us for Week of Honors, April 13-22, 2012. Many of WVU’s colleges and schools will hold ceremonies, open houses, and receptions. The annual Evening of Honors on April 18 will celebrate exceptional staff and faculty who have received major awards and honors.

On this web site, you will find a detailed schedule of the week’s many activities. Please ask your student if he or she will be part of this year’s Week of Honors. We hope that you can join us as we celebrate our academic community.

Sincerely,

Michele Wheatly
Provost
West Virginia University
